Krista goes to Washington

I love to travel and the opportunities that Utah State has to offer has allowed me to do just that. Since being here I have gone to Oklahoma, Nebraska, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and all over the surrounding states. Most of these have been for conferences related to a club or organization that I found here. One of my favorite trips has been to Washington D.C. I went to be part of a discussion on immigration and lobby as well as be present at a news conference. I traveled alone and all expenses were paid, I toured every monument and met a lot of active students all over the country. The experience was fantastic and educational, I recommend everyone to get involved with clubs and organizations at the collegiate level. You never know where being involved will take you.

Procrastination at the College Level

Wow, this is my first blog entry and it’s November! I think it is safe to say that I am a procrastinator. Since I have started my second year here at Utah Sate University (which I LOVE!), I have found myself in a lot more activities and social circles than my freshman year; that said, I think that the “postpone monster” has grabbed hold of me and hasn’t let go since August. Isn’t procrastination supposed to disappear after high school?

It’s not just me right? We all procrastinate, we all find excuses to justify it, we promise ourselves we won’t do it again, but time and time again we find ourselves staring at a computer late into the night, thinking of new ideas to finish that paper due first thing in the morning. In fact, I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed up past three in the morning putting the final touches on a project. College, especially Utah State University, is a great institution both academically and socially; however, remember: DUE today, does not mean DO today!
